In the eyes of Hong Kong audiences, foreign animation has always seemed to be more worthy of attention than its home-produced counterpart. But the achievements of local animators should not be underestimated.
The exhibition "Moving Tales of Hong Kong Animation: Hong Kong Animation Development from 2007 to 2017" offers an overview of the development of the local animation industry over the past decade. Showcasing influential and representative works by renowned and up-and-coming local animators together with their oral history interviews, it sets out to give audiences a better understanding of the dynamics and artistic approaches in the industry and a greater appreciation of the talent and energy driving this important aspect of Hong Kong culture.
