Between the Lines: Revisiting James Wong's legacy to Canton Pop

The speaker will share his fond memories of renowned lyricist James Wong. The talk will take us on a musical journey back to the 1970s and 80s with the greatest hits of TV drama theme songs written by the duo to reminisce about those bygone days when watching television was part of family life in Hong Kong.

James Wong was a renowned cultural figure in Hong Kong and a man for all seasons, who made his presence felt in the realms of music, television and film in a prolific career. This talk, hosted by two veteran media professionals, is a tribute to James Wong’s legacy in the Hong Kong media industry, sharing anecdotes about him and unboxing some of the best-kept secrets behind the screen. It will delve into the creation of James as the ‘Prince of TV’, tracing how he navigated both opportunities and challenges in Hong Kong showbiz, charting his course while shaping the landscape of Hong Kong popular culture.

A Stroke of Luck : Having Fun with Festive Couplets

Hosted by local artist Vivian Chia with her signature style of "typing" calligraphy, this festive crossover offers an artistic encounter to reinterpret James Wong’s finest lines through the art of calligraphy. Come and join us to enjoy the beauty of words and take away home your stroke of luck with the unique festive couplets like no other.
