Programme details
Demonstration of Traditional Film Editing
Early television productions were shot on film. Each production had to go through a number of procedures before broadcasting: filming, film processing, editing, sound track mixing, superimposition and telecine transfer. Experienced film editors have been invited to give participants an introduction to the production processes of traditional TV programmes in the exhibition gallery. They will demonstrate film editing techniques using an old Steenbeck film editing machine. The demonstrators will also talk about the pros and cons of film editing, and the advantages of today's digital editing technology.
